Session: Zooming into Pedagogy: Leveraging Technology to Deliver Constructivist Pedagogy in a Remote Synchronous Graduate Program for Nontraditional Teachers

Presenters: Jill Davis, Katie Fields, Dan Vincent, and Darlinda Cassel

Date and Time: Thursday, March 26, 2026, 3:00-4:00 p.m.

This session highlights the UCO Teacher Path, a remote synchronous graduate program supporting alternatively certified early childhood and elementary teachers in Oklahoma. Designed in response to the state’s teacher shortage, the program adapts constructivist pedagogy for virtual learning through intentional use of breakout rooms, collaborative tools, AI, and video‑based interaction. Presenters will share how TPACK‑aligned design, real‑time modeling, and reflective dialogue help nontraditional educators bridge theory and practice. Attendees will gain practical strategies for supporting constructivist teaching in virtual teacher‑education programs serving diverse and underserved populations.
